RE: Lance 921 two heavy for F250?

My camper is 3000 something dry, I upgraded my tires, they are now rated at 3960 or something like that. I have airbags and rancho shocks. The truck handles great, doesn't even know the camper is back there. I do have to say that this camper is a 2008 and the center of gravity is further forward then my last camper (2003) and handles much better then the last one. Good luck!

RE: Auto-rewind reel for the power cord

I like it! I would really like something like that, not sure I would attempt the install though.

RE: Where to find 12 volt TV's

Just go with 110v LCD TV and use an inverter. I bought a 19" and just plug in a 300w inverter and it works fine. The new LCD TV's draw very little current compared to the "older" tv's.

RE: Newbie Question about Taking the TC off the Truck

I would say for a little extra "security" raise the front a little higher then the back and you will be fine! Have fun!

RE: Dodge Ram 2500 QC tire options????

Campermama, How can I find out what the factory stock aluminum wheels are rated for? I looked in the owners manual but found nothing. Thanks Not sure, maybe post the question or search in the dodge forums, they are really helpful over there. I just know the steel wheels are a bit stronger then aluminum. RE: Narrowing down the new camper (DONE!)

Any reason you are not staying with the Lance? Just curious.

RE: Dodge Ram 2500 QC tire options????

Hello, Thanks for the info. The Toyo may be an option, that is the extra load capacity I am looking for. CamperMama, I have an exact replica of your truck, same color, only I have the Hemi, and I have aluminum wheels, otherwise it is identical. How much did the new tires raise the truck, I would like to keep it from becoming much higher than stock. Did you notice an improvement in handling with the higher capacity tires? How about you Growler67, any improvement over stock tires? I will be running a maxed out truck if I purchase the new camper we are considering, but that is the way it is until we are in need of a new truck. Thanks Raised the truck just about 2", hence the nerf bars! Yes, better handling too. If I were you though I would check and make sure your aluminum wheels can handle the weight, not sure they can. You won't go wrong with these tires. I got them for $900 installed, free rotate/balance for life.

RE: Dodge Ram 2500 QC tire options????

Toyo 285/75/17. E, 10 ply, Load 128S, 3,970 lbs. Quiet on the highway, size fits in spare tire location so you can get 5. Out Just got the same tires, love them, handle real nice!

RE: Considering new Dodge for TC

I would go for a used one with the 5.9 and the 6-speed manual trans. Yup! Check my sig. Mine is manual, much better then auto! I love my truck!!

RE: Brand new truck and camper for less than $30,000.

I would be very UNHAPPY with them. They both lack ammenities that I would want. I would rather take the 30,000 and go by both used and spend less and get a LOT more for the money. My $0.02 Ditto for me!

RE: One Night Stop in Newport Beach Area

Bolsa Chica, I like it there. Oh and IMHO don't go to Mexico, not safe, don't even get me started on that topic! Wish you would change your mind though. There is also Carlsbad state beach, real nice too.

RE: Well, the TC is sold

I can relate to what he was saying, I have tented since I was a little kid and my kids were in a tent when they were in diapers! I have been a single mom for most of their lives and as I got older I just need a little more comfort (a bathroom!) I bought a used camper first as a "test", I loved it but it had lots of problems that made it not fun. So I decided right there that I would save a buy a new one so I didn't have any problem! As you can see in my signature I just bought another new one, but never had any problems with the one I sold after owning it for 5 years. I predict you will be back some day, until then, happy trails and enjoy!!!

RE: Bugs on camper? How to remove/how to keep from sticking?

Use Rejex instead of wax. This is a co-polymer sealant that cures slick as glass and lasts 2x-3x as long as carnuba wax. I used it for the first time last year on my Dodge pickup that sits outside all winter. Did two coats per directions in September, and the truck was beading water in March. Bugs usually wash off with just pressure from the garden hose. Cool thing is that it does not take much product to get a great shine and protection. It is available online, and some Truevalue hardware stores have it or can get it. Be sure you have all the old wax off before applying. http://www.rejex.com/ Which one do you use the All purpose or the MAx wax or ? Thanks!

RE: Sunset Beach, CA Who was there? Sept 6th

Is that the place just south of Santa Cruz? I wasn't there this weekend but was there a few years back. Nice place.

RE: 2800# on 3/4 ton?

Shocks and air bags? That's it? I know the Fleetwoods were "entry level", anyone know about what this thing sold for new in 99? Where are you at for weights? Thanx, Bill Yes, that's it! Truck handles fine! I bought a new Fleetwood Angler 8C in 2001 paid about $9000 for it. I have no idea what my weights are, my camper is like 3100# dry.

RE: 2800# on 3/4 ton?

You will be fine, check out my signature. I have a 2500, my first Lance was a 1025 about 2400# dry, the truck never even knew it was there. I added rancho shocks and airbags just because. My new Lance 1055 is 500#'s heavier, so I upgraded my tires to handle the weight. The truck still doesn't know the camper is on there and actually handles this camper better then the last camper as they moved the center of gravity further forward. Been using a camper on my 2500 Dodge for almost 5 years now, on road, off road, and never had an issue. Go for it!!!

Do you need steps for the truck or the camper?

Does Anybody Know...

I got a notice from Lance Camper saying due to the unfortunate closing of All Seasons RV in North Hollywood they would now be my contact for any issues with my camper. Their website is still up so I am wondering if this is true. I hope it is not since they are the best dealer I have ever dealt with and I thought the business was doing well. If it is true, I may never buy another camper, another dealer like them would be hard to find I am sure. :(
